Year 6Easter Term, 2010 We are looking forward to a busy Spring/Easter Term. For the first couple of weeks, Maths and English lessons will focus on helping th eboys to prepare for the entrance exams on 23rd January. Our Topic for the term is Rivers and Oceans, which I'm sure the boys will enjoy! Much of the Literacy, Art, Geography, History, DT and ICT work we do this term will be focused around the topic. We are very much looking forward to our assembly to parents on March 25th, where we will share much of the topic work we have completed. As part of our studies, we will be visiting a Wessex Water eductaion centre on February 2nd in order to carry out a comprehensive river study (more details nearer the time). It is also hoped that we will include some coastline studies during our residential week at New Barn (15th - 19th March). An information evening for parents about New Barn will be held at 5pm on March 4th. In Science lessons (taught by Mr. Morris) the boys will study the following topics: electrical circuits and electronics, chemicla reactions and sound. PE notice The boys will have football lessons this term on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Please make sure that your son brings a towel in order to shower after every lesson. They will also need shin pads in addition to their usual games kit. Swimming lessons will take place on Thursday this term at the University Pool. As well as their swimming kit, please make sure your son has a warm coat with them on Thursdays for the short walk to the pool. Adverse weather notice In the event of any further school closures due to snow, I will post some activities as an ipoint file on this page for the boys to get on with at home. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss any aspect the term ahead. Email: rhall@qehbristol.co.uk Kind regards, Mr Hall Year 6 Teacher
