They swam against schools from all over Britain. The team had already won the Bristol Schools Championships (details below) and set a new record in freestyle relay of 1:07.17. The team, all from Year 6 aged 10, comprised: Lewis Clarke, Zachary Gillett, Harry Potter, John Thursby-Pelham, William Mortimore and Patrick Dore. Congratulations to the team! The Bristol Schools Championships On Saturday 9th May, the Junior School Swimming Squad won a clean sweep of the trophies at the Bristol Schools' Swimming Championship which took them to this final in Sheffield. The freestyle 4 x 25m relay team won the 'Charles Webb Shield' in a new Bristol Schools' record of 1min 7.17sec. This was followed up by individual wins in the breaststroke by Edgar Thornton and in the backstroke by William Mortimore. Excellent second place finishes were also secured by John Thursby-Pelham, Zachary Gillett, Patrick Dore and Lewis Clarke. Coupled with a good placing from Harry Potter, this allowed the team to accumulate enough points to win the aggregate points cup. In the final event of the afternoon, the 4 x 25m medley relay squad finished just outside the Bristol schools' record to win the 'Dolphin Cup.'
