England 1 USA 0At least one team this week was able to pull off a victory over the USA! The Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital 'Future Problem Solving' Team has just returned from the World Finals in La Crosse University, Wisconsin laden with silverware. The most outstanding performance came from the Senior boys team which won first prize in the “Presentation of the Action Plan” competition. The Year nine pupils were competing in an age group open to 18-year-olds and they still managed to blow away the opposition. Two boys Adel Mebarek and Ian Gordon were also runners up in the “Alernates Booklet Writing” competition. QEH was representing the UK and Europe for the second year running and this year the gathering focussed on green issues in the 21st century. At the finals 36 of the United States' were represented alongside teams from places as far a field as Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Over 1600 school children were at the competition and the 20 boys from QEH were under the guidance of the school Learning Enhancement teacher, Bronnie Dullroy. Bronnie’s dedication paid off and given the fact that she come hotfoot from her honeymoon to lead the party testifies to her dedication above and beyond the call of duty…..
