Leeds 2011

OEs' Leeds Dinner

Spring has sprung and we await the arrival of summer, and thoughts turn to the dinner season.

We have already had a very enjoyable dinner at the Queens Hotel in Leeds. A small but select gathering of Old Boys, current and former staff, and wives met up for a very pleasant evening.

A  pre-dinner drink in a local pub proved that nowhere is safe as an unsuspecting recent Old Boy, Nick Bannerman, happened to be there enjoying a well-earned after work drink. I am sure he is still in shock seeing his old Headmaster and Deputy Headmaster in his local!

Future Dinners

We hope to return to the Queens Hotel on the equivalent Friday next year, May 4th 2012, so make a note in your diary all you northern lads -  we could do with more support.

We have the Cambridge Dinner on 20th May 20th and London Dinner on 10th June coming up and details can be found on the website and from the Development Office.

Our main Reunion Day is on 9th July and I know several age groups have expressed an interest to get together either then or on the Old Boys' Dinner weekend in November.

Other News

We recently had a communication from Andrew Mellor (1994-1999) and he is a musician of note and now a music journalist. He recently narrowly missed out on the Young Music Journalist of the Year Award. He is still in contact with Jamie Barnes, a Head of Modern Languages in London and Henry Van der Beek who is now a top animator working on the Harry Potter films. Recent news of Ron Tandy is that he has moved into residential accommodation near to his son Robin in Winchester. Ron is not in the best of health, and is now 87 and we wish him all the best.
