TOP GRADES at A-LEVEL
Congratulations to all QEH Sixth Form on their outstanding A-level results!
QEH boys achieved a 100 per cent pass rate for the sixth year running, with 95 per cent of grades at A* to C grade and 79 per cent at A* to B grade.
Twenty-seven per cent of boys taking the examinations at the school achieved straight A* or A grades in their 3 or 4 A Level subjects.
In all, over 51 per cent of grades awarded to QEH candidates were at A* or A grade and 18 per cent were awarded at the A* grade.
QEH Headmaster, Stephen Holliday, said: “These are superb results at a time when boys often underachieve nationally. Five boys all achieved at least three A*s each. No one can doubt the quality of education at QEH with almost all boys gaining entry into a top university.
"Almost one-in-five exams taken at QEH were awarded elite A* grades. Evidence shows that boys at QEH are three times more likely to score top A-levels than students in state comprehensives, with figures also showing that the number of A*s is more than 50 percent higher than in state grammar schools. Some institutions such as Cambridge, Warwick and Imperial demanded at least two A*s as a minimum requirement for the most selective courses such as further maths and economics.
“With our top ten position in the Value-Added tables, and these results which put us easily amongst the best academic schools in the country, there has never been a better time to be a pupil at QEH.”
QEH is ranked 77th against schools nationally in the Times A Level Table (published on Friday 19 August) where there is also an article and pictures of boys receiving their A-level results.
