OFF TO OXBRIDGESix boys from QEH have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge – equating to about 10% of Year 13 at the school. This comes in addition to many who have offers at other leading universities. Conditional offers have been made to the following: Oxford Cambridge Headmaster, Stephen Holliday, said: “We encourage the highest academic standards at QEH. We believe that boys really benefit from a single sex environment which allows us to teach boys in ways that enable them to excel.” This news follows the recent Government Value Added tables which show QEH to have the best results in Bristol by far, more than 30 points ahead of any other school in the city, and amongst the top ten in the country! It is now widely accepted that Value Added measures are a more reliable yardstick of the academic success of a school than raw results given in either A-level or GCSE tables and QEH has been top of Bristol’s tables since they began three years ago.
