Children in NeedThe main event of this year's Children in Need Appeal was the University Challenge competition where teachers allied themselves with their Houses and fiercely battled in order to be crowned the most intelligent House. The semi-finals took place on Friday 11 November with the final on Monday 14 November. Hartnell's Metropolitan, led by Mr Amor, managed to come from behind and clinch the prize from St Carr's University. In addition, there was not a dry eye in the house after teachers performed a somewhat moving rendition of 'It's All About You' by McFly during assembly. This year's annual lunchtime sport event was just as fiercely competitive as ever, with the Mathematics, Humanities and Science Departments along with the Senior Management team being voted to pit it out against each other. There were some controversial decisions by Indraj Ghuman as referee, but in the end the Senior Management succeeded over the Maths department in a final of epic proportions. On behalf of the Prefect Team I would like to thank all of the teachers and boys involved for all of their efforts in raising money so far, and with various other events underway such as the results of the Priority Lunch ticket raffle and the 6th form X factor, we look forward to donating an even larger figure to this worthy cause. Kit Aina Total raised: £2,380.96
