SkelligThis term's production was “Skellig”, a play following a small boy named Michael whose baby sister is born prematurely and is in and out of hospital with fears that she may die. During these difficult times for the family, Michael meets a crippled old man in the garage of his new house. He feeds the man and returns him to health. Michael helps him move out of the garage before it is demolished, with the help of his new friend Milo. Skellig turns out to be far more than an old man with angel wings growing from his shoulders. With the baby close to death, the family's situation is worse than ever… With a horde of Year 7 and 8s making up ensembles I and 2 of the production, the patience of a saint was most certainly a virtue required. Members of Sixth Form, Year 11 and particularly staff had this virtue and worked very hard to organise and manage the ensembles movement around the stage to fit the scene. The role of Skellig was a great part to play, requiring a love of Chinese food and beer. The dialogue of Skellig was brilliant and made him a fantastic part to play with his snappy rudeness and at first, disregard for others. The production was great fun to be part of and had a wonderful cast. James Clarke alias “Skellig”
