PSHE

PSHE lessons allow boys to think beyond the confines of the academic curriculum and to explore issues that affect their lives and the lives of those around them. All boys are encouraged to develop into critical thinkers, both in and beyond school.

"We encourage boys to explore issues that affect their lives and the lives of those around them."

In all Years we cover issues of topical interest and current affairs. Study skills, target setting and exam techniques are covered in most Year groups as well as aspects of sex education and drugs awareness. Visiting speakers from support agencies and organisations such as the Police, NHS and our own Medical Centre, support many of the lessons.

All boys at QEH receive at least one lesson each week in this subject. In the Sixth Form boys have regular lectures from visiting speakers who bring their own fresh and often challenging ideas. They also follow a programme of seminars covering specialist topics.

For further information and to discuss any aspect of these topics, please contact Mr Philip Davies, Head of PSHE, at pdavies@qehbristol.co.uk
