Boys' National Performance
QEH boys' examination results compare very favourably with the published national results for boys

Results/Boys' Performance

QEH boys continue to perform well in League Tables published by the national newspapers. More specifically in 2010:

At A-Level:

QEH celebrated a record set of A-level results with 100% of boys achieving A*-C grade and almost every boy achieving his first-choice place at a top university or medical school, including Oxford and Cambridge:

  • 90% of all grades were at A*, A or B putting QEH amongst the top schools in the South-West, and 25th nationally (The Times A-Level Table 20 August 2010)
  • 62% of all grades were at A* or A grade, with 20% at A*
  • 40% of boys achieved straight A* or A grades in all their subjects.

At GCSE:

  • Again GCSE results set another record with 100% of boys gaining 5+ GCSEs at grade C or above
  • 90% of all passes were at grade A*-B and 70% were at A* or A.

Instead of standard GCSE, we offer International GCSE or ‘IGCSE’ in maths and English which are not recognised in government League Tables. We believe that IGCSE offers a better preparation for A-level in these two subjects but it does make the League Tables look altogether meaningless!
