Football

Football is well established at QEH. It is a games option for Years 9, 10, 11 and Sixth Form. Years 7 and 8 have an option to play football in their activities programme and this is proving very popular. In the Spring term we field 4 Senior teams and at least 2 Intermediate teams at U15 and U14 levels who play competitive matches every week.

In partnership with BCFC, football is well established at QEH

Each team will play about 20 fixtures throughout a busy term. The 1sts, 2nds and Under-15 teams compete in the ISFA Mercian League where they have performed well, usually finishing in the top half of the table.

The Seniors play fixtures on Thursday and Saturday afternoons, whilst the Under-15 and Under-14 teams play during Tuesday and Saturday afternoons. We also enter teams in the ISFA Cup competitions at both Under-15 and Under-18.

QEH has outstanding football pitches on our dedicated 23-acre football site at Failand. We also have an exciting partnership with Bristol City Football Club. There are three first class full-size pitches, with two smaller junior pitches. A further two full-size pitches and an extensive dedicated training area are on adjacent fields.

We have committed and well qualified teachers supported by coaches from Bristol Rovers' Football Club who assist with football coaching during games afternoons.

Football tours are now a bi-annual event and recent tours have included tournaments in Barcelona and Holland.
