AS & A2 Level CurriculumSixth Form students are expected to study four subjects to Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level in the Lower Sixth and then complete a full A level by studying the A2 modules in three or four of those in the Upper Sixth. All our courses carry the option of study through to A2 or of stopping at AS. In the Autumn term of Year 11 each student’s provisional preferences of subjects are requested from those described under 'Curriculum' in the i point download area on this page. The subjects are arranged into four option groups, in the light of the responses. This is done in such a way as to give as many students as possible their first choices. In the Spring term students are asked to select one subject from each of the option groups and, on the basis of this information, the Director of Studies constructs next year’s timetable. Students are free to change options after this time within the constraints of the four groups. All students enjoy a varied programme of General Studies and benefit from careers advice. They also have a games afternoon and often play a leading role in school teams.
