Bright Futures

It is hoped that you will finish your time at QEH having acquired the academic qualifications and other skills necessary for your future career.

"Bright futures ... a springboard to the wider world."

The environment in the Sixth Form encourages academic success and a developing maturity. The great majority of students go on to some form of Higher Education. The vast array of university degree courses now on offer means that all students can find a course that would suit their interests and academic ability.

The decisions concerning choice of subject and institution in Higher Education are important. Some students are very certain of their futures, others need to explore the possibilities, but all Sixth Formers are able to receive help and advice about their choices. Often teachers will arrange mock university interviews for their students.

In the past few years there have been evenings set aside for mock interviews by members of the Bristol Junior Chamber of Commerce. There is also a valuable Work Experience week at the end of the Lower Sixth. The placement is a matter of negotiation, but usually students find work in an area that interests them and benefits their decision making.
