Above: Volunteers at a local care home Top: Volunteer helping at The British Heart Foundation bookshop Voluntary Service in the CommunityVolunteering is a popular and valuable option for many boys in our Sixth Form. You are offered the opportunity to go outside school and into the community as an option on your games afternoon. Currently between 20 and 30 boys take part in the scheme where valuable skills are learnt and where there is opportunity to contribute to the community. You are encouraged to find your own placement where you can pursue your particular interests - this ranges from working with animals to supporting young children with their IT skills. We have good links with primary schools, special schools, and care homes and hope to continue to broaden the field. (We welcome any offers of placements from organisations which might benefit from visits from our sixth formers).
