Sixth Form Admissions
Every year we welcome students, male and female, from other independent and maintained schools into our co-educational Sixth Form, together with Year 11s currently at QEH.
Anyone wishing to enter the QEH Sixth Form from another school is encouraged to come for an individual tour and a taster day. Taster days will take place as follows:
- Thursday 18 November
- Thursday25 November
- Thursday 2 December
Currently, individual tours can be arranged for January 2022.
The closing date for scholarship applications is Friday 3 December. Non scholarship applications must be with us by Friday 11 February.
Each applicant is considered individually. Our entry requirements are a minimum of six grade 6 at GCSE (or grade B's where IGCSE's have been taken) with a grade 7 (or A) in subjects taken at (I)GCSE that are to be continued to A Level.
What you should be doing
Whether you are already at QEH or come from outside, we urge you to take advantage of all guidance offered in preparing you for Sixth Form life next year. Think carefully about what you want from your post-GCSE education and whether the Sixth Form at QEH will meet your expectations.
Work closely with your subject teachers, form teacher, Heads of Sixth Form and also present Sixth Form students to find out as much information as possible.
Whatever subject you are considering at A-level, talk to the Head of Department concerned and look carefully at our Sixth Form Prospectus so that you make the right course decisions before it is too late. Be honest about where your strengths and weaknesses lie - predicted GCSE results are often not your best guide!
For existing pupils in Year 11 wishing to enter the Sixth Form there is an ‘Introduction Morning’ which will start these enquiries, along with careers advice and information gathered from the Parents’ evening.
Full information about entry, and Sixth Form scholarships, are available from the Admissions Office.
