Preparing for life beyond QEH

This week, Year 12 students been giving some serious consideration to life beyond QEH.

On Monday, the Study Abroad Roadshow came to QEH. Students were able to find out about a range of universities in Switzerland, Australia, Spain and the USA to name but a few. The majority of our students will go on to university so it is really important that they make an informed decision about where they want to study.

Later in the week, Year 12 headed off to Ashton Gate Stadium to attend the excellent University and Apprenticeship Fair. There were over 90 exhibitors from a wide range of universities and apprenticeship providers. Students had the opportunity to talk to staff and collect lots of information to help them make an informed decision about the path they wish to follow after A-levels. There were also a series of short seminars on a range of relevant topics which many of the students attended. It was a busy but very useful morning.

One of the most important features of the Sixth Form at QEH is how it prepares its students for Higher Education and beyond.  As competition for places at good universities becomes more intense, the importance of this aspect of the Sixth Form has increased significantly. Our well-qualified and experienced staff offer specialised guidance and support in this demanding process.
