Settling in at QEH
When pupils arrive in any new school for the first time they are usually understandably nervous, excited, disorientated, confused and unsure of themselves. QEH School has an enviable reputation in helping their newest boys settle in quickly at the start of the academic year, and this September has been no different.
The boys in Year 7 set off for their residential trip at Margam Park trip in Wales. This year the weather was on their side and there were smiles all round at the ever popular, and very muddy, river walk! Team building activities were next on the list, encouraging boys to work together in groups to solve various problems. By the end of the trip the boys returned exhausted but full of stories and having made new friendships.
Students in Year 9 spent a day last week solving problems and working together during their team building event. Activities included making vehicles to strict specification from vegetables they had purchased at auction and navigating a series of obstacles as blindfolded trios. The aim of the day was to help everyone get to know one another better and to feel comfortable in their new forms. All had a very enjoyable experience!
